Signatura Lazard
In December 2004, Lazard and Signatura Advisory, a São Paulo-based investment
bank, formed Signatura Lazard, a 50-50 joint venture to provide local and
cross-border financial advisory services in Brazil. Located in São Paulo, the
new firm will provide advisory services for Mergers & Acquisitions,
corporate and financial restructurings and capital markets to a diversified
client base that includes companies with investments or interests in Brazil. To

MBA (Strategic Alliance in Argentina)
In November 2004, Lazard entered into a strategic alliance with MBA Banco de
Inversiones, a Buenos Aires-based investment bank, to provide cross-border
advisory services to institutions investing in companies in Argentina and to
Argentine corporates investing abroad. To see the press release

Lazard-Ixis
In March 2004, Lazard and IXIS, the capital markets subsidiary of the
Paris-based bank, Caisse d'Epargne, entered into a cooperation arrangement to
place and underwrite securities on the French equity primary capital markets
under a common brand, "Lazard-Ixis." As part of the arrangement, the two
institutions also agreed to cooperate in their respective origination,
syndication and placement activities for French-listed companies exceeding a
market capitalization of €500 million. In March 2005, Lazard and IXIS agreed to
expand this arrangement to include an alliance in real estate advisory work
with the objective of establishing a common brand for advisory and financing
